Brighton and Hove Albion talent Marc Leonard is the latest name being linked with a move to Preston North End this month.

Daily Express reporter Charlie Parker-Turner reports that PNE are interested in signing Leonard on a permanent basis.

The same goes for Swansea City with the likes of Bristol Rovers, Morecambe and Forest Green Rovers all allegedly chasing loan deals.

Leonard is currently on loan at Northampton Town so that deal would have to be scrapped in order for him to move on this month.

7 Footballers Who Are BETTER Than Their Fathers

Who is Marc Leonard?

Leonard, 21, was born in Glasgow and started his career in the Rangers ranks before moving on to Heart of Midlothian.

Brighton swooped in for Leonard back in 2018 and he has made just two first-team appearances for the Seagulls so far.

Leonard has been a Scotland youth international all the way through from Scotland Under-17 to Under-21 level.

In 24 league games for Northampton this season, Leonard has recorded one goal, starting 17 times and coming off the bench in another seven games

We’re always a little doubtful whenever three or more clubs are linked with the same player.

Rumours of that ilk always have an air of being agent-led and Leonard just doesn’t fit the priorities for Ryan Lowe this month.

Lowe wants a right wing back and a striker this month with North End well-stocked in midfield as it is.

Ryan Ledson just signed a new contract with Ben Whiteman, Ali McCann, Alan Browne and Daniel Johnson also in the mix.

The only way we can really see Leonard arriving is if he’s being eyed just in case an incredible offer comes in for Ben Whiteman.

Leonard likes to dictate play from deep like Whiteman, though there haven’t really been rumours about him leaving PNE.

We’re doubting a move for Leonard materialises this month but maybe the Scot is one to keep an eye on for future windows.
