Preston North End have been linked with Kevin Nisbet but Blackburn Rovers appear to be ramping up their interest.
PNE will be desperate to add striking quality during this summer’s transfer window.
You only have to look at Ryan Lowe’s options for next season to know that PNE are struggling up top.
Emil Riis is out injured, Ched Evans is facing an uncertain future due to his health problems and all three of Liam Delap, Troy Parrott and Tom Cannon are set to return to their parent clubs.
Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.
Who leads the line for PNE next season is anybody’s guess and new signings are desperately needed.
One surprise name linked of late is Hibernian hitman Kevin Nisbet.
The Scottish Daily Mail (18/04, p73) reported that PNE have been scouting Nisbet ahead of a potential summer move.
Nisbet has been in great form this season and has bagged 10 goals in 14 league appearances after coming back from a major injury.
The 26-year-old would be a big addition to North End’s strike force but there is major competition.

The Scottish Sun claim that Blackburn Rovers joined Bristol City and Millwall in scouting Nisbet in action against St Mirren on Saturday.
The Herald add that Nisbet is likely to cost around £1.5million this summer with English clubs queueing up.
There will be some scepticism in the PNE fanbase over whether North End will really commit £1.5million to one signing this summer.
Money is tight and beating Rovers on wages wouldn’t be easy.
Nisbet is a name for PNE fans to keep an eye on in the coming weeks, but we can sadly imagine that he ends up with a Championship rival – possibly even a Lancashire rival in Rovers.
