Earlier this month, Preston confirmed the sale of winger Callum Robinson to Sheffield United.

North End saw Robinson hit 12 goals last season despite missing four months of the season, continuing his rapid development under Alex Neil.

Sadly, Preston had little choice but to sell Robinson. The 24-year-old had just one year left on his contract, and wasn’t looking to extend his deal.

To prevent losing him for nothing in 2020, North End cashed in this summer. Robinson has moved on to Sheffield United, with Chris Wilder finally signing him having attempted last summer.

North End sold Robinson for around £8million, though Aston Villa’s sell-on clause means the income was closer to £7million. That was seen as a bargain at the time, and maybe even more so now.

Robinson has been impressing for the Blades in pre-season, and scored twice against Barnsley on Saturday. He may well have already pushed himself into Wilder’s starting line-up, ahead of David McGoldrick.

Sheffield United fans have already been giving Robinson rave reviews, especially after beating Barnsley. Some have already called him ‘unreal’, ‘pure class’ and ‘something special, with Robinson catching the eye early.

Others think Robinson is exciting and exactly what United have needed, backing him for a big season. Amazingly, new teammate Ravel Morrison joined in the praise, calling Robinson ‘sensational’ – and it already seems like the Blades have landed a bargain.
