Celtic are back in action against Nomme Kalju this evening, but whether Scott Sinclair is involved remains to be seen.

The winger has been a star since arriving at Parkhead in 2016, when he reunited with Brendan Rodgers. The pair knew each other from Chelsea and Swansea City, so joining forces again was perfect.

Sinclair has racked up 61 goals in 155 games for Celtic, which is a staggering record. In terms of trophies, Sinclair has won eight pieces of silverware in just three years at Parkhead.

However, he doesn’t appear to be in favour under Neil Lennon, who replaced Rodgers in February. Sinclair hasn’t started in the Champions League qualifiers this summer, and his future is in question.

The Herald reported on Friday that Preston are hoping to sign Sinclair in a £2.5million deal, lining him up to replace Callum Robinson. That would be a hugely ambitious move, and Sinclair may leave for first-team football.

The LEP claim that North End have only asked about a loan deal, as the fee plus wages are just so far beyond us. With just one year left on his contract at Celtic, a loan seems unlikely.

Celtic fans have now taken to Twitter to react to the rumours, with many hoping to see him stay. Some feel it will be hard to replace a goalscoring winger for just £2.5million, branding the price ‘daylight robbery’.

A move seems unlikely, but Celtic fans really don’t think Sinclair should be available for £2.5million – and anyone thinking that the 30-year-old is now a has-been just needs to read these messages from Celtic supporters.
