Preston take on Swansea City on Monday afternoon, facing a tricky trip to the Liberty Stadium.
This has never been a happy hunting ground for North End. Preston have yet to win at the Liberty, and have lost 4-1 and 4-0 there in recent times.
In fact, North End haven’t beaten Swansea away from home at any stadium since January 1961, meaning interim head coach Frankie McAvoy will hope to end a shocking 50-year drought.
Preston will have to face an impressive Swans side. They sit fourth in the Championship table, but have now lost three games in a row with Steve Cooper now wanting to steady the ship.
He will have a decision to make on Jamal Lowe, who has now gone 16 games without a goal – and you almost know that he will end up finding the net against Preston.
North End had a bid accepted for Lowe last summer as Wigan Athletic desperately needed cash, but he turned down a move to Deepdale in favour of heading to South Wales.
The speedy attacker had a great run between the 12th of December and the 16th of January; in seven games between those dates, he registered seven goals in a stunning purple patch.
Since then though, Lowe hasn’t found the net, and has been coming in for criticism from Swansea fans as his goal drought goes on and on.
It just seems so very Preston to roll into town and have Lowe score against us having turned us down a matter of months ago, but let’s hope we can keep it tight and leave him frustrated again.
