Preston sent striker Jayden Stockley on loan to Charlton Athletic last week, giving him the chance to play first-team football.

After North End brought in a new striker this month, Stockley fell down the pecking order – and a poor display at Wycombe Wanderers earlier this month sealed his fate.

Stockley has moved on to Charlton until the end of the season, and we believe there is scope to turn that move permanent.

Stockley came on as a substitute in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Swindon Town, but was given his first start on Tuesday night.

Charlton beat MK Dons 1-0 away from home, with Stockley partnering Conor Washington in Lee Bowyer’s attack.

Stockley managed 67 minutes for the Addicks, and won an impressive seven aerial duels whilst also having one shot on target and recording one key pass.

Charlton fans have been taking to Twitter to react to Stockley’s display, suggesting that Stockley ‘looks the real deal’.

Others called him a ‘proper handful’ and felt that he caused problems last night, winning everything in the air as he potentially plays for a permanent move to South London.
