Preston aren’t back in action until Saturday afternoon as they take on Sheffield Wednesday, with the international break approaching its close.

North End don’t lose many players to international duty, so Alex Neil has a job trying to keep his players sharp and match fit.

Bounce games often take place in these breaks, and Preston took on Burnley today as both sides look to prepare for this weekend’s games.

There hasn’t been much coverage of the game, but North End have now confirmed that the game finished in a 2-2 draw.

Playmaker Josh Harrop grabbed himself a goal, but that isn’t the big headline; nope, it’s that goalkeeper Connor Ripley scored.

North End stated that Ripley managed to score from the edge of his own box, embarrassing German stopper Marc Richter in the Clarets goal.

Fans have been left completely baffled, asking if they’re reading the news right whilst joking that Ripley should now be played up front.

He has little chance of replacing Declan Rudd any time soon, but he now joins Andrew Lonergan and Iain Turner as a Preston goalkeeper who has scored in recent memory.
