Preston North End secured a new signing on Monday evening, signing free agent Connor Wickham on a short-term deal until January.
North End finished up their summer transfer window without bringing in a new centre forward.
PNE had given themselves another option by taking striker Wickham on trial in August.
Wickham attended the win over Peterborough United last month, and had been training with PNE ever since.
Despite failing with a penalty against Walsall in a reserve clash last week, Wickham has done enough to get a PNE contract.

Wickham a case of unfulfilled potential
Wickham was considered something of a wonderkid at Ipswich Town. He made a big 2011 move to Sunderland but failed to really live up to his billing.
Wickham moved onto Crystal Palace in 2015, joining for around £8million.
In six years at Palace, Wickham only managed 41 Premier League games and eight goals. Injuries ruined Wickham’s time at Selhurst Park, hence his release this summer.
Wickham is still a hero at Palace though, because he scored a winner against Watford in a 2016 FA Cup semi-final.
Crystal Palace fans react to Wickham move
Palace fans have now been taking to Twitter to react to Wickham’s move.
Some believe that Wickham would have been a regular goalscorer in the Premier League if injuries hadn’t been a problem.
Others think Wickham is ‘bound to be a hit’ at PNE, hoping that he can finally play regularly after a difficult few years.
