Preston North End won Ryan Lowe’s first game in charge on Saturday, beating Barnsley 2-1 at Deepdale with Ben Whiteman turning in a superb display.
Lowe will have been hoping for three points in his first game as Preston boss and got exactly what he wanted.
Alan Browne opened the scoring, firing home from a Daniel Johnson pass.
Cauley Woodrow brought Barnsley level, but Preston weren’t going to be denied.
DIVOCK ORIGI DOES NOT MAKE SENSE.
Substitute Ryan Ledson pulled off a lovely free kick routine with Johnson, who smashed in what proved to be the winner.
That’s a perfect start for new man Lowe, and Whiteman was a vital part of the success.
