Preston North End winger Josh Murphy is still waiting for a first start for the club – and fans have been left baffled by Frankie McAvoy’s comments.
Murphy joined Preston on loan from Cardiff City on deadline day in August.
The deal was done with mere minutes to spare as North End made a late move to bolster their attacking options.
MAN UNITED HAVE TO SACK OLE NOW.
Murphy is a proven Championship player with history under boss McAvoy, given that the Scot coached him Norwich City.
So far though, Murphy has played just 66 minutes across six substitute appearances for North End. He still hasn’t started a single game.
Fans quite simply haven’t seen enough of Murphy so far, so it’s hard to give a verdict on him.

Boss McAvoy has now indicated that Murphy has ‘slack habits’ off the ball and needs to offer more defensively to get into the Preston team.

Preston fans can’t believe that they’re hearing, believing that Murphy was one of the brighter players against Derby County.
Others just can’t bothered about Murphy’s defending, believing he should let loose to focus on attack.
Some even questioned why McAvoy signed Murphy in the first place, and want to see him given a chance moving forward.
