Preston North End picked up just a second home win of the season tonight, as they beat Middlesbrough 3-0 at Deepdale.
Alex Neil’s men have struggled at home this term, and needed a response after a disappointing 2-2 draw with Wycombe Wanderers.
Preston were by far the better team tonight though, and whilst it didn’t really pay off in the first half, North End cashed in after the break.
Brad Potts opened the scoring, turning Andrew Hughes’ goal-bound shot into the net to put North End 1-0 up.
Emil Riis came on as a substitute and made an instant impact, setting up Scott Sinclair to make it 2-0 before adding a third himself.
