Preston returned to winning ways tonight, beating Birmingham City 1-0 at St Andrews thanks to a Scott Sinclair goal.

North End had lost all three games in all competitions since the turn of the year, and really needed to hit back against the Blues.

Just one goal settled the game, as Sinclair finished off a fine counter-attack to give Preston all three points against his former club.

Alex Neil’s men then held firm to keep a clean sheet and secure the win, with defender Paul Huntington celebrating his 300th game for the club in style.

Preston’s new recruits were key factors tonight with Daniel Iversen and Ben Whiteman both featuring prominently, but it’s Jayson Molumby earning huge praise.

Molumby was superb and tireless through, covering every blade of grass in a fine midfield performance – and he also picked up the assist for Sinclair’s goal.
