Preston fans worried about Sepp van den Berg's throw-ins

Preston slumped to yet another defeat on Saturday afternoon, losing 1-0 at home to Luton Town.

After falling against Wycombe Wanderers and Middlesbrough, North End made it three defeats in a week without scoring a goal.

Daniel Iversen’s own goal proved to be the winner for the Hatters, and Alex Neil has now paid the price having lost his job this afternoon.

This is a dark time for North End, and many just want the season to end – but North End need to secure Championship survival first.

One of the few positives in recent weeks has been the form of Sepp van den Berg, who has impressed since coming in on loan from Liverpool on deadline day.

The Dutchman has fared well in an unfamiliar right back role, and some may hope to see him return to the club next season.

However, some fans noticed something of an issue for Van den Berg against Luton on Saturday, and that was his throw-ins.

Van den Berg was pulled up for not one, not two but three foul throw-ins, which has been something of a repeated problem for him so far.

Fans took to Twitter to suggest that Van den Berg’s struggles were ‘unbelievable’ whilst urging him to improve on the issue if he is going to be a right back going forward – something for Liverpool to think about when he returns to Merseyside.
