Preston have secured their fourth signing of the summer by snapping up defender Matthew Olosunde.

North End had already brought back Liam Lindsay and Sepp van den Berg following successful loan spells, with Lindsay joining permanently.

Playmaker Izzy Brown has come in on a free transfer, and now so has Olosunde having rejected a new deal at Rotherham United.

The American international heads to Deepdale to fill a real problem position for Preston, with Darnell Fisher sold to Middlesbrough in January.

Olosunde started 22 games in the Championship last season and made another 10 substitute appearances, recording three assists in the process.

There is now real hope that Olosunde can be Preston’s starting right back next season, so let’s check in on what Rotherham fans think of Olosunde’s move.

Some Rotherham fans have noted that Olosunde was ‘inconsistent’ at times last season, but has all the tools to be a ‘great player one day’.

Others admitted that they’re gutted to see Olosunde leave Rotherham, noting that he can be brilliant going forward and will ultimately go on to bigger and better things after being left out at Rotherham.
