Watford fans declare their love for Preston after last-gasp goal

Preston may not be in the race for promotion, but they’re certainly having impact in the race for the Premier League.

On Friday afternoon, North End snatched a last-gasp equaliser against Norwich City, giving Watford hope of catching the Canaries.

That was Norwich dropping points, and on Monday it was Watford’s turn as they could only draw 1-1 at Middlesbrough.

Preston did them another favour though, snatching a 1-0 win at Swansea City with an injury-time winner as Matt Grimes put through his own net.

Norwich are in action tonight, and can now take another step closer to the Premier League if they can beat Huddersfield Town.

The table looks great for the pair; Swansea are now 10 points adrift of Watford, and a further six behind Norwich as things stand.

After North End’s winner at Swansea, Watford fans took to Twitter to share their love for the Lilywhites having done them a huge favour in the promotion race.

Some called Preston a ‘gargantuan’ club having helped the Hornets out again, with others calling North End ‘beautiful’ and their new favourite team having beaten the Swans.
