Preston loanee Tom Bayliss finally started his first league game for Wigan Athletic on Tuesday night, but fans seem a little split after his performance.
North End decided to send Bayliss out on loan in August, seemingly deciding he wouldn’t be near the first-team setup.
That’s despite Bayliss scoring against Nottingham Forest on the final day of last season. Unbelievably, just his second league start for North End since joining from Coventry City in 2019.
MAN UNITED HAVE TO SACK OLE NOW.
Bayliss just hasn’t worked out for Preston, so he has been sent on loan to Wigan Athletic.
The 22-year-old has been building up fitness with the Latics, but only made his first league appearance for the club last night.
Bayliss started in a 2-1 home defeat to Milton Keynes Dons, playing 80 minutes before being substituted.

Bayliss featured in a holding midfield role alongside Tom Naylor and picked up a yellow card.

Wigan fans have been taking to Twitter to comment on Bayliss, and there are some real split views.
Some felt that Bayliss looked lost and is nowhere near good enough, doubting that he will feature under Leam Richardson again.
Others felt Bayliss showed energy and nice touches of the ball, comparing him to Swansea City’s Jay Fulton – another player who has spent time on loan at Wigan.
