Preston are back in action again on Tuesday afternoon as they travel to take on Rotherham United.
With two defeats and a draw over the Christmas period, it hasn’t exactly been a joyous time for North End.
That was to be expected though. With so many injuries, Alex Neil is down to the bare bones; hardly ideal for playing so many games in such a short period of time.
Neil has one fit winger and one fit striker at his disposal, meaning youngsters Ethan Walker and Connor Simpson have been recent substitutes.

Callum Robinson, Billy Bodin and Josh Harrop may be some way off a return, but there could be good news coming.
Neil has today been quoted by the club’s official Twitter account as saying that striker Seani Maguire trained yesterday and will be training today.
The Irishman hasn’t been seen in a Preston shirt since the 1-0 win at Bristol City in November, having picked up another hamstring injury on international duty.
Now though, Maguire is stepping up his return, and may well be on the bench when North End visit Rotherham tomorrow.
AN on injuries: “Seani trained with us yesterday and he should train again today, we are getting closer with him and a couple of others such as Brandon Barker and Josh Earl.” #pnefc

Neil also revealed that left back Josh Earl and winger Brandon Barker are also nearing a return to fitness.
They may not travel tomorrow, but the injury problems will hopefully ease soon, with Maguire’s return the biggest boost.
