Preston North End return to Championship action this afternoon, travelling to Elland Road to take on promotion-chasing Leeds United.

It’s not even a month since PNE met Leeds at Deepdale.

North End won 2-1 with a fine performance as Liam Millar fired home a late winner on Boxing Day.

PNE now head to West Yorkshire and will need to be as good if not better than they were on Boxing Day to claim all three points again.

Ryan Lowe has been hit with illness in the camp and goalkeeper Freddie Woodman is one of three players to miss out today.

That means Dai Cornell comes into the side and starts in goal for just second time in the Championship this season.

Jordan Storey, Liam Lindsay and Andrew Hughes are the back three with Brad Potts and Liam Millar as the wing backs.

Ben Whiteman partners Ali McCann in midfield with Mads Frøkjær-Jensen handed a rare start, supporting Emil Riis and Will Keane up top.

Duane Holmes and Milutin Osmajic miss out with illness so former Liverpool talent Layton Stewart is on the bench.

Young goalkeeper James Pradic has been recalled from his loan spell at Bamber Bridge and joins Stewart, Greg Cunningham, Patrick Bauer, Kian Best, Robbie Brady, Ryan Ledson, Ben Woodburn and Alan Browne on the bench.

Preston North End starting XI: Cornell; Storey, Lindsay, Hughes; Potts, Whiteman, McCann, Millar; Frøkjær-Jensen; Riis, Keane.

Preston North End substitutes: Pradic, Cunningham, Bauer, Best, Brady, Ledson, Woodburn, Browne, Stewart.

Leeds United starting XI: Meslier; Gray, Rodon, Ampadu, Firpo; Gruev, Kamara; Summerville, Rutter, James; Bamford.

Leeds United substitutes: Klaesson, Byram, Cooper, Shackleton, Poveda, Anthony, Gelhardt, Piroe, Joseph.
