North End picked up a first home league win of the season on Saturday afternoon, beating Sheffield Wednesday 1-0.

Alex Neil will be hoping to take that form into tonight’s game with Lancashire neighbours Rovers, but he has been dealt blows ahead of kick off.

Ben Pearson is ruled out despite coming on as a substitute on Saturday, whilst Paul Gallagher and Josh Earl are also missing from the squad.

They may have been exposed to the global pandemic or have picked up knocks in training, but there is no word just yet.

Declan Rudd starts in goal, whilst Darnell Fisher starts despite a ban seemingly looming for the right back for violent conduct.

Patrick Bauer and Paul Huntington are the centre backs, with Joe Rafferty at left back despite being hooked at half time against Wednesday.

Daniel Johnson will partner Ryan Ledson in midfield, with Alan Browne back in the side as the number 10 tonight.

Scott Sinclair and Tom Barkhuizen line up on the flanks, and Emil Riis leads the line for North End despite Jayden Stockley’s impact on Saturday afternoon.

Three teenagers make the bench in Lewis Coulton, Adam O’Reilly and Jacob Holland-Wilkinson, with Neil somewhat down to the bare bones.

Connor Ripley, Jordan Storey, Tom Bayliss, Brad Potts, Seani Maguire and Stockley make up the rest of the bench tonight.
