Confirmed Preston line-up v Brighton: Harrop starts, Sinclair on the bench

Preston starting XI: Ripley; Rafferty, Bauer, Storey, Hughes; Bayliss, Gallagher; Bodin, Potts, Harrop; Stockley.

Preston substitutes: Hudson, Fisher, Davies, Pearson, O’Reilly, Sinclair, Maguire.

Preston are back in action this evening, as they take on Brighton and Hove Albion in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

North End have dumped out Mansfield and Derby County so far, and now face a Premier League test – with a Manchester United clash on offer in the fourth round.

Connor Ripley starts in goal despite Declan Rudd’s return, whilst Jordan Storey and Andrew Hughes return to the defence, joining Joe Rafferty and Patrick Bauer in the back line.

Tom Bayliss and Paul Gallagher play in central midfield, with Brad Potts pushed further forward into a number 10 role.

Billy Bodin starts on the right and Josh Harrop down the left, with Jayden Stockley back in the lineup having missed out against Norwich City on Saturday.

Youngster Adam O’Reilly is handed a spot on the bench, alongside Mathew Hudson, Darnell Fisher, Ben Davies, Ben Pearson, Scott Sinclair and Seani Maguire.
