Preston North End starting XI: Rudd; Huntington, Davies, Hughes; Fisher, Gallagher, Browne, Johnson, Earl; Barkhuizen, Maguire.

Preston North End substitutes: Ripley, Storey, Rafferty, Ledson, Bayliss, Harrop, Potts, Riis, Stockley.

Preston make just one change from the side that beat Derby County 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Scott Sinclair drops out of the squad due to a hamstring injury, with Andrew Hughes returning to the side.

It’s unclear just how Preston will line up, but given that Coventry often play a 3-5-2, we think Alex Neil may be matching up.

That would mean a back three of Paul Huntington, Ben Davies and Hughes ahead of goalkeeper Declan Rudd.

Darnell Fisher and Josh Earl will then operate as the wing backs, with Paul Gallagher, Alan Browne and Daniel Johnson in midfield.

That would then mean Tom Barkhuizen and Seani Maguire start up front together in a mobile pairing.

It could simply be a 4-2-3-1 with Earl playing as a left-sided winger, but Coventry’s 3-5-2 makes us thing this is a back three from North End.

Brad Potts returns to the bench, joining Connor Ripley, Jordan Storey, Joe Rafferty, Ryan Ledson, Tom Bayliss, Josh Harrop, Emil Riis and Jayden Stockley.
