Ryan Lowe is looking for a big result this afternoon as Preston North End host Leeds United at Deepdale.

North End were beaten 2-1 at Swansea City on Friday night, heaping the pressure on Lowe after a run of three wins in 16 games.

PNE publicly backed Lowe with a statement on Saturday with full focus turning to this clash against Leeds.

Lowe has brought Freddie Woodman back into the side today after his curious benching against Swansea.

It’s unclear whether PNE will line up in a back three or four today, but we’re going with a four for now, which would see Brad Potts, Jack Whatmough, Liam Lindsay and Andrew Hughes start.

Liam Millar and Duane Holmes would then line up out wide with Ali McCann and Ben Whiteman in midfield.

Alan Browne will be relied upon for attacking runs into the box, supporting striker Milutin Osmajic.

If it’s a back three, Potts and Millar would be wing backs, flanking a back three of Whatmough, Lindsay and Hughes.

Browne and Holmes would push on to support Osmajic, so there is some tactical flexibility for Lowe this afternoon.

That means that striker Ched Evans drops to the bench alongside Dai Cornell, Jordan Storey, Greg Cunningham, Kian Best, Ryan Ledson, Mads Frøkjær-Jensen, Ben Woodburn and Will Keane.

Leeds United starting XI: Meslier; Gray, Rodon, Struijk, Spence; Ampadu, Kamara; Summerville, Piroe, James; Rutter.

Leeds United substitutes: Darlow, Firpo, Cooper, Byram, Gruev, Anthony, Bamford, Gnonto, Joseph.
