Confirmed Preston v West Brom lineups: Johnson makes miraculous recovery, Scott Sinclair benched

Estimated reading time: 1 minutes

Preston starting XI: Rudd; Fisher, Bauer, Davies, Hughes; Pearson, Browne, Johnson; Barkhuizen, Nugent, Maguire.

Preston substitutes: Ripley, Clarke, Rafferty, Gallagher, Potts, Sinclair, Stockley.

Preston head to The Hawthorns tonight to take on West Bromwich Albion, and have been handed a boost with Daniel Johnson’s return.

Declan Rudd starts in goal, behind Preston’s strongest back four of Darnell Fisher, Patrick Bauer, Ben Davies and Andrew Hughes.

Ben Pearson anchors the midfield, and will be joined by Alan Browne and Daniel Johnson in the engine room, with Johnson making a welcome and miraculous return having been a massive doubt yesterday.

Tom Barkhuizen and Seani Maguire start out wide, leaving David Nugent as the main striker, as Scott Sinclair has been dropped to the bench after some below-par displays lately.

Connor Ripley, Tom Clarke, Joe Rafferty, Paul Gallagher, Brad Potts and Jayden Stockley make up the rest of the bench, but there’s no Josh Harrop as he misses out with a knock.

West Brom have two ex-Preston players in their lineup as Sam Johnstone and Callum Robinson both start, whilst Charlie Austin – whose goal won the game between the two sides earlier this season – is named on the bench.

West Bromwich Albion starting XI: Johnstone; O’Shea, Hegazi, Ajayi, Townsend; Livermore, Harper; Pereira, Krovinovic, Robinson; Robson-Kanu.

West Bromwich Albion substitutes: Bond, Bartley, Furlong, Barry, Grosicki, Phillips, Austin.
