Preston are back in action this evening, as they welcome Norwich City to Deepdale.

Alex Neil’s men picked up a 2-1 win over Bolton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon and will hope to continue this good form.

It’s now five league games without defeat for North End, winning the last three away games. That means it’s two draws in the last two home games, and tonight promises to be a stern test.

Norwich sit top of the Championship after dismantling local rivals Ipswich on Sunday. The game sees Alex Neil go up against his former club, and the man who replaced him in Daniel Farke.

Neil may have some selection decisions to make, but we’re going for an unchanged team tonight…

That means Declan Rudd starts in goal against his former club as he looks to keep up an upturn in form.

Darnell Fisher has similarly improved of late and will surely start at right back. Jordan Storey, Ben Davies and Andrew Hughes will most likely round out the back four.

Ben Pearson should sit in holding midfield despite some fitness concerns, with Alan Browne and Brad Potts ahead of him.

That would leave Paul Gallagher on the left and Tom Barkhuizen on the right. Barkhuizen came in at Bolton and picked up a goal and an assist, so should be able to keep his place.

Sean Maguire may therefore lead the line again, having looked somewhere back to his best against Bolton on Saturday.

There are a couple of concerns in there; expecting Gallagher to play Saturday-Wednesday-Saturday may be difficult, whilst Maguire’s hamstrings need to be managed carefully.

Jayden Stockley would presumably come in if either player misses out, with the option of putting Maguire out wide. Lukas Nmecha would also be in contention for a wide forward role.

In this scenario though, we’re going for Stockley and Nmecha on the bench. They would be joined by Michael Crowe, Tom Clarke, Josh Earl, Ryan Ledson and Daniel Johnson.
