North End have won just two of the last 14 games, unable to build on a strong start to the campaign.
That has piled the pressure on boss Lowe in some section of the fanbase but a win tonight would provide some breathing room.
Lowe goes with Freddie Woodman in goal tonight, and it’s the same back three as in the 0-0 draw with Norwich City on Saturday.
Jordan Storey, Jack Whatmough and Liam Lindsay all start in PNE’s back line having kept a clean sheet at Carrow Road.
Brad Potts is the right wing back with Liam Millar seemingly lining up on the left side.
Ben Whiteman will sit in midfield with Alan Browne and former Huddersfield man Duane Holmes given freedom to go forward.
Will Keane comes back into the side, partnering Ched Evans in attack.
That means that Ali McCann and Andrew Hughes drop to the bench for PNE tonight.
Dai Cornell, Greg Cunningham, Robbie Brady, Kian Best, Ryan Ledson, Ben Woodburn and Mads Frøkjær-Jensen are PNE’s other substitutes tonight.
Emil Riis isn’t back yet and Milutin Osmajic remains out of action after the injury picked up against Middlesbrough last month.
