Preston North End are back in action this evening, as they take on Millwall at Deepdale after a pair of away wins.

Alex Neil’s side went on the road to beat Queens Park Rangers 2-0 last week before a 2-1 win at Huddersfield Town over the weekend.

Millwall may be without manager Gary Rowett for tonight’s game, but make no mistake about it; this will be a tough task for North End.

Here’s our predicted line-up for tonight’s game, which isn’t an easy one to call…

Declan Rudd, barring any unreported injury, will be in goal, and given that Millwall have been operating with a 3-4-3, Alex Neil may want to match up.

Given that Ben Davies is out, the back three would again be Jordan Storey, Patrick Bauer and Andrew Hughes, after they played as a back three against Huddersfield.

Injuries would again leave Alan Browne and Joe Rafferty as the wing backs, though don’t rule out Tom Barkhuizen as a right-sided wing back; he’s played that role in the past and would bring a little more dynamism.

Brad Potts excelled in a central role against Huddersfield and could be trusted there again alongside Ryan Ledson, with Ben Pearson still out of action.

Daniel Johnson would then be the number 10, operating behind Scott Sinclair and Emil Riis as the front two.

The caveat here is that this 11 started against QPR and Huddersfield, two difficult games. It may be too much to ask them to go out and start again, so what changes could Neil make?

As mentioned earlier, starting Barkhuizen as a right-sided wing back and then moving Alan Browne into midfield could work, whilst Neil has wanted more creativity at home, meaning Josh Harrop may be in contention.

Fans may not want to hear this, but it may also be tough for Emil Riis to play a third 90 minutes in a week having only recently arrived in England; we would anticipate Seani Maguire starting if Riis is left out.
