Preston North End return to action this afternoon as they head to Kenilworth Road to take on Luton Town.

After taking four points from two home games against Wycombe Wanderers and Middlesbrough, Alex Neil takes his side back on the road today.

The last trip to Luton ended in a 1-1 draw back in June, and North End will be hoping for better this time around.

Alex Neil will be looking to build on the 3-0 midweek win over Boro, but may still consider changes – and with that in mind, here’s our predicted lineup…

Once again, Declan Rudd should be Preston’s goalkeeper today, with only a late issue likely to keep him out of the side.

Despite Luton going with a back three against Coventry City in midweek, we think Neil will stick with his back four of Darnell Fisher, Paul Huntington, Ben Davies and Andrew Hughes.

That’s Neil’s best, most-balanced back four right now, and with Hughes seemingly fit to play after a knock against Boro, the Welshman should start.

Ryan Ledson and Alan Browne should continue in holding midfield, but the biggest dilemma for Neil comes in the number 10 role.

Daniel Johnson is back from suspension, but Brad Potts was so good in midweek – and regularly impressive in away games – that we think he may just keep his place.

Tom Barkhuizen and Scott Sinclair are in such good form out wide that they will surely start again, and then it comes down to a three-way battle in attack.

Jayden Stockley fared well against Middlesbrough, but Emil Riis was so impressive off the bench that he is really pushing for a start to lead the attack – and having starred away at QPR, Huddersfield Town and Reading, another start on the road could be ideal for him.
