Roy Keane has predicted a Leeds United win this weekend despite watching Preston North End beat Bristol City 2-0 at Deepdale last weekend.
Tongues were wagging last weekend as Manchester United legend Roy Keane was spotted in the stands as PNE hosted Bristol City.
North End boss Ryan Lowe is under huge pressure at the moment and some wondered if Keane was there with a view to taking over.
Lowe ended up securing a much-needed 2-0 victory but there he still has a battle on his hands to get large parts of the fanbase back on side.
Keane has often been seen at PNE games in recent times and it’s unlikely that his trip was related to the managerial job.
We have pondered before whether Keane has hinted at being in contact over the PNE job, and his name is bound to come up again if Lowe leaves the club any time soon.
Roy Keane predicts Preston North End defeat this weekend
Keane has now appeared on Stick to Football and highlighted that he was at Deepdale last week as former United talent Will Keane – no relation – bagged a brace to give PNE all three points.
“I was at Preston v Bristol City last weekend, I go to every type of game,” said Keane. “I was watching the game last week, did I hell get paid,” he added when Jill Scott suggested that he was just there for work purposes.
Keane was then asked for a prediction as PNE travel to take on Leeds United this weekend.
North End beat Leeds 2-1 at Deepdale on Boxing Day but Keane doesn’t see a repeat performance on Sunday afternoon.

“At Preston!” said Keane as Ian Wright highlighted that Boxing Day result, indicating that North End don’t really stand a chance at Elland Road.
“Oh Leeds will beat them, it’s just what score it will be,” Keane added as he predicted a 3-1 Leeds victory.
Either Keane thinks that Leeds are just too strong at home or he wasn’t all that impressed with PNE’s display last weekend – possibly a mixture of both!
Few North End fans will be predicting a win this weekend, but that was the case for the game at Deepdale too.
Liam Millar ran riot in that game and PNE will have to turn in a strong performance to pick up a result in West Yorkshire this weekend.
