It’s safe to say that Declan Rudd isn’t too happy with Kyle Edwards this morning.
Preston took on West Bromwich Albion at Deepdale on Monday night, in a game that always looked like a battle. North End had lost two games in a row, and had an unbelievable defensive injury crisis.
With an entire back four out of action, Alex Neil patched together a defence to take on the Championship’s top scorers, and had them frustrated throughout.
However, West Brom winger Edwards seized an opportunity to tumble over goalkeeper Rudd in the final stages, and referee Oliver Langford pointed to the spot.

Preston players were incensed, as Edwards had quite clearly dived. Charlie Austin stepped up to score, meaning the Baggies went home with all three points.
Preston were harshly done by, with few people around the country genuinely believing it was a penalty. Many Preston fans have been left fuming since the decision, and Rudd himself has offered his view.
Rudd took to Instagram to post a photo of the incident, showing Edwards already going down before even being near the Preston stopper. Accompanied with a thinking emoji, Rudd seemingly can’t quite believe that Langford pointed to the spot – much like the rest of us.
