There were some standout performers against Cardiff, but defender Diaby excelled once again in just his second start for Preston.
Diaby sent two years out of the game due to a doping ban, but impressed on trial at Preston and earned a deal in January.
Only signed until the end of the season, Diaby starred in his first start against Bournemouth last weekend and didn’t disappoint against Cardiff either.
Diaby read the game brilliantly and proved almost impossible for Jordan Hugill and Isaak Davies to get around in the Cardiff attack.
The stats look great too; for starters, WhoScored gave Diaby the man of the match, rating his performance at a 7.56.
Diaby racked up five clearances, two tackles, one interception, two blocked shots and four aerial duels won.

Add in the ability to pass through the lines – as Diaby has shown the ability to do – and Preston could have the complete package ain the 24-year-old.
Preston have a contract decision to make on Diaby soon, and whilst anything after two games is unlikely, many have already seen enough; Diaby should be here to stay.
