Preston boss Ryan Lowe has branded scenes at Coventry City a ‘disgrace’ as Preston North End came away with a 1-0 victory.
Lowe took his side the Coventry Building Society Arena on Saturday afternoon, seeking another away day victory.
North End were the better side and finally god the breakthrough late on with Daniel Johnson bagging from the penalty spot.
Sadly, Preston were pegged back in the 98th minute as Fabio Carvalho fired in a dramatic late leveller for the Sky Blues.
The final 10 minutes were, to put it lightly, bonkers.
Preston defender Liam Lindsay was sent off for a second bookable offence, only for Fankaty Dabo to then be given his marching orders for a foul on Emil Riis.
Johnson scored the subsequent penalty, but there were not one but two pitch invader incidents before the spot kick was even taken.
Six minutes of added time were subsequently added on, and North End played into the 98th minute when Tavares scored.
North End boss Lowe has now spoken about the situation having seen his side fall just short in controversial circumstances.
Lowe has suggested that adding time on for home fans invading the pitch was a ‘disgrace’, noting that he felt Preston more than deserved to win the game.
It’s certainly a frustrating one for Lowe to take, as it will feel like Coventry have benefited from their own fans entering the field of play.
North End sadly have to just take it on the chin and move on, with Lowe looking for a victory against Bournemouth next weekend.
