Preston boss Ryan Lowe has heaped praise on Brad Potts as his North End renaissance continued in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Peterborough United.
North End headed to the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday afternoon in search of another away day success for the travelling fans.
It may not have been as impressive as wins at West Bromwich Albion or Hull City, but Preston still managed to grab the victory.
Cameron Archer’s late goal handed Preston all three points, curling a left-footed strike into the top corner of the net.
Archer may be the goalscoring hero for the second weekend in a row but there should be huge praise for Potts too.
Few could have really seen this coming.
Potts was struggling for form under Alex Neil and Frankie McAvoy, even being ironically cheered off the pitch at Nottingham Forest.
That was a sorry state of affairs, but Potts is turning his Preston career around under the tutelage of Ryan Lowe.
Previously deployed as a midfielder or wide man – even a makeshift striker under McAvoy – Potts is now playing as a right wing back under Lowe.
Potts started his career at Carlisle United as a right back before becoming a midfielder as he developed.

Potts playing there seems to make perfect sense under Lowe, and his form has been improving by the week.
Lowe likes midfielders playing at wing back, with Conor Grant shining there at Plymouth Argyle before Lowe’s move to Preston.
Lowe has still indicated that he wants Potts to be almost unstoppable going forward given his considerable frame, and we saw the £1.5million signing from Barnsley drive up the right flank against Peterborough.
Lancs Live’s George Hodgson quotes Lowe as saying that Potts was ‘outstanding’ against the Posh, hailing his performance in another Preston win.
Potts may not be unstoppable just yet, but he’s fast becoming undroppable.
