Preston North End produced yet another superb away performance on Wednesday night, thrashing Reading 3-0 at the Madejski Stadium.

Scott Sinclair, Emil Riis and Brad Potts were all on the scoresheet for North End as they made it three four wins in a row.

There were a number of standout performers last night, and here are out top three…

Darnell Fisher

What a difference he makes. Fisher was passed fit after picking up a knock on Saturday, and we’re thankful that he was. Fisher was outstanding against his hometown club, racking up three tackles, three clearances, one blocked shot and the Fisher classic of winning three free kicks. He gets Preston moving forward down the right flank, and North End favoured that side last night as Fisher again showed why he’s one of the top right backs in the Championship.

Ryan Ledson

At the start of 2020, few could have really expected Ledson evolving as he has done. He was a bit-part figure and almost went out on loan in January, but came back from lockdown looking fitter, quicker and ready to stamp his authority on any game. The 23-year-old was everywhere last night, making six tackles, two interceptions and two clearances, whilst also making two key passes and picking up the assist for Riis’s goal. He’s developing rapidly right now, and the biggest compliment you can pay him is that North End aren’t missing Ben Pearson all that much with Ledson in such great form.

Emil Riis

What a signing. Whoever found him deserves a pay rise, as he’s exactly what North End have been missing. He didn’t have all that much service in the first half, but he was a menace after the break. If you give him room in the channel, he can drive towards the box and cause mayhem, as he won another penalty last night with a fine run. He then scored his first Preston goal as he raced clear of the Reading defence to latch on to Ledson’s pass, then showed his hold-up and link-up play for the third goal. Another outstanding away performance from the Dane, who has become an instant fan favourite.
