Preston’s FA Youth Cup run came to an end on Tuesday night with a 4-2 defeat away at Blackburn Rovers.
North End headed to Ewood Park to try and book a game against Arsenal, but it all started so well for the Preston youngsters.
Ethan Walker showed why he’s so highly rated, cutting inside onto his left foot to fire a left-footed strike into the net, before D’Margio Wright-Phillips grabbed an equaliser.
Walker then carved out a fine chance for himself in the second half, with his long-range effort parried straight out to Tyrhys Dolan, who tucked away from close range to put Preston 2-1 up.

Sadly, Ben Dooley’s red card turned the game; Blackburn went on to score three more goals, claiming a 4-2 win against the 10-man Lilywhites to book their passage to the next round.

The result was of course a big disappointment, especially against local rivals, but wide man Walker and playmaker Dolan continue to show just how exciting they are.
Both players took to Twitter to reflect on the defeat, admitting their pride at their team and how positives can be taken from the defeat, with Dolan vowing to come back stronger after this setback.
