Preston North End have seen many strikers come to the club on loan in recent years before moving on to bigger things.
Cameron Archer and Tom Cannon both completed big money moves last summer; to Sheffield United and Leicester City respectively. Lukas Nmecha has gone on to represent Germany at senior level whilst at Wolfsburg.
Stephy Mavididi is also enjoying himself at Leicester after spells with Juventus and Montpellier.
But one striker from last season who only managed four goals for Preston, is now being linked with moves to Ajax and PSV Eindhoven.
Troy Parrott was with The Lilywhites last season on a loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur. The Republic of Ireland international seemed to have everything in his game apart from goals. He scored just four in his one season with the club, although it was disrupted by injury straight after he scored his first league goal for the club.

When scoring a winner against Norwich City, Parrott was injured in doing so, and missed a chunk of the season when he would have liked to have kicked on. He often seemed better in a number 10 role or on the wing, but you had a feeling Parrott would have an impact at his next club.
He moved to the Netherlands last summer, on another loan deal, this time with Excelsior. He scored a 94th minute winner in the Rotterdam derby against Sparta in October and has become a key player for them.
Parrott is now onto seven goals and three assists in 18 league matches. Even more impressive considering he has started just 11 of those matches. Excelsior are struggling this season though, with just four wins from 21. They are three points ahead of the relegation play-off place, but Parrott is catching the eye in the Netherlands.
The 42 claims that Ajax and PSV are lining up a move at the end of the season, with AZ Alkmaar and Feyenoord also monitoring the situation.
Parrott’s contract with Tottenham Hotspur runs until 2025, but it would be tough for the striker to break through there with the quality attackers Spurs currently possess. Parrott could be tempted to join Jordan Henderson and Chuba Akpom at Ajax, although PSV are clearly the better team at the moment, with 18 wins and two draws so far this season.
