Brad Potts has signed a new deal with Preston North End which has seen him commit his future to The Lilywhites until at least 2026.
The Championship table toppers announced the news on their official website on Monday afternoon. Potts has established himself as one of the first names on the team sheet in the past year or so, becoming Ryan Lowe’s first choice for the right-wing-back position.
The 29-year-old has really developed his game on that right hand side, with his energy a key part of this side being able to see out games and carry on going throughout the 90 minutes. His relentless runs up and down the wing see him make crucial impacts at both ends of the pitch.
There are a number of players who’s deals are currently set to run out in 2024. This represents an early deal for Preston in tying Potts down for two extra years. Ryan Lowe has traditionally said contracts are things he would only look at in the second half of the season, but he’s clearly felt Potts was already deserving of one.
Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.
Alan Browne and Ben Whiteman are two players that North End fans would love to see extend their contracts. Browne seems likely to commit but Whiteman could probably have quite a few suitors monitoring his situation.

MORE PRESTON STORIES
Potts joined North End from Barnsley in January 2019 having also previously played for our Lancashire rivals Blackpool. Nevertheless that didn’t stop him from celebrating euphorically when he scored the opener in our 3-1 win over The Seasiders last season.
His new contract has been met with delight by his Preston teammates. Ryan Ledson commented ‘Fully deserved lad’ on Potts’ Instagram post about the news. Ben Whiteman, and captain Alan Browne echoed Ledson’s wishes almost word for word.
Freddie Woodman commented saying ‘Yes, love it mate!’. It wasn’t just Potts’ current teammates who were sending on their best wishes. Paul Huntington who now plays for Potts’ former club Carlisle United and played alongside him at Deepdale for three-and-a-half years sent a message saying ‘Love it’.
Potts will probably hit the 200 appearance mark for Preston North End this season and after a rollercoaster of a time at the club, he is now clearly enjoying his football, and is a huge part of Ryan Lowe’s side.
