Preston are back in action against Leeds United on Tuesday – but Tom Bayliss won’t be involved.
North End suffered a last-gasp defeat at Reading on Saturday afternoon, and need to respond quickly. Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds side come to Deepdale on Tuesday, in a fascinating top six clash.
Alex Neil may be tempted to make a few changes after that defeat at Reading, with the likes of Alan Browne and Brad Potts no doubt hoping for a game.
If Neil does make midfield changes, he will have a number of options to choose from, though Bayliss won’t be one of them.

North End’s club-record signing from Coventry City hasn’t yet appeared in the Championship, largely for two reasons; his own inexperience and the form of those around him.

The 20-year-old has been limited to Carabao Cup games this season, and has played just shy of 200 minutes. His time will come, but it turns out he’s been ruled out of late.
Ahead of the game against Leeds, Neil admitted that Bayliss actually picked up an injury recently, but it was kept secret so no fans have been aware of his absence.
Bayliss missed the last behind-closed-doors game so will play the next one, hopefully pushing himself closer and closer to first-team football.
