Preston are back in action on Tuesday evening as they travel down to South London to take on Millwall.
North End hammered Huddersfield Town 3-0 on Saturday afternoon, and will be looking to take that form into Tuesday’s game.
Historically, Preston don’t have a good record against Gary Rowett’s teams, spanning his time with Birmingham City, Derby County, Stoke City and now Millwall.
When the teams met in October, the Lions claimed a 2-0 win at Deepdale, with Kenneth Zohore on the scoresheet for the visitors.
Don’t expect to see the Dane in action tomorrow; he is currently nursing an injury and has missed the last four games.
The 27-year-old has scored three times in 13 games for Millwall this season, enduring a frustrating loan spell from West Bromwich Albion.
Now, Preston boss Alex Neil has told the club’s official website that North End were looking into a deal for Zohore, most likely before he joined Millwall on October.
“[Kenneth] Zohore was someone we were looking at, so Gary has been backed in the recruitment they have made; he has a strong unit there and you can certainly see that he has put his imprint on the team,” said Neil.
North End signed his fellow Dane Emil Riis instead, and who knows – maybe the £8million striker will remain on Preston’s radar moving forward.
