There’s little time to rest over the festive period, and it’s already time to look ahead to Preston’s next game.
On Boxing Day, North End travel to take on Leeds United at Elland Road. Having picked up a point in a 0-0 draw at Cardiff City on Saturday, Preston will be hoping to go one better in their latest away game.
North End have though picked up just one point in their last four Championship trips to Leeds, so it’s a tough ask. The Whites look to be in a strong position to finally return to the Premier League, even after drawing with Cardiff and losing at Fulham.

With an exciting brand of football under Marcelo Bielsa, Leeds are hailed regularly as the best side in the Championship. Now, Alex Neil has offered his view on Bielsa’s men, believing they’re the hardest team to stop in the Championship.
Neil noted that Leeds will be a ‘completely different’ challenge to Saturday’s game against Cardiff and most games in the Championship in all honesty, but hinted that he will have to come up with ‘something different’ from the 1-1 draw against Leeds in October to combat them.

That may point towards a tactical change, possibly even in terms of formation. It’s not often we see Neil move away from a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3, so this will be fascinating to see.
With Ben Davies back in action, maybe three centre backs is a possibility. Neil clearly knows the threat Leeds possess, and with Preston struggling on the road this season, maybe a change of setup is what’s needed to get a result at Elland Road.
