Preston boss Alex Neil has suggested that Ben Pearson, Alan Browne and Scott Sinclair should all return against Bristol City.

North End lost 1-0 at home to Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon, with a contentious Lewis Grabban penalty sealing all three points for the visitors.

That brought a three-game winning run to an end, but Neil was missing a number of key players for Saturday’s clash with the injury list mounting.

Patrick Bauer is already out, whilst Ben Pearson has been missing since an ankle injury sustained in the 2-2 draw against Wycombe Wanderers last month.

Alan Browne was a surprise absentee against Forest, whilst winger Scott Sinclair picked up a hamstring injury against Derby County on Boxing Day.

The trio all missed out against Forest, and taking three players of their quality of any Championship side would be damaging.

Neil has now admitted that he expects Sinclair to be back to face Bristol City in Preston’s next league game on January 16th, with Pearson and Browne also expected to feature at Ashton Gate.

They will seemingly miss the FA Cup trip to Wycombe next weekend, but they should be back very soon – though in the cases of Pearson and Browne, it will depend if they’re still at the club given uncertainty over their futures.
