Preston boss Alex Neil has admitted that Tom Bayliss has trained ‘particularly well’ recently, hence his start against Nottingham Forest.
North End fell to a 1-0 defeat to Forest on Saturday afternoon, with a controversial Lewis Grabban penalty settling the game in the second half.
The three-game winning run has come to an end, but the performance of midfielder Bayliss was something of a positive.

Bayliss was handed a start in midfield alongside Ryan Ledson, with Paul Gallagher on the bench whilst Ben Pearson and Alan Browne were out injured.
The 21-year-old was making his first Championship start since his £1.2million move from Coventry City in 2019, having been forced to wait for his chance.

Bayliss kept possession ticking over well in the middle of the park and played a couple of impressive passes, with an extended run in the team no doubt on his mind.

Neil has now admitted that Bayliss has been training really well of late, and ultimately deserved his chance to make a Championship start.
Neil feels that Bayliss has done well in substitute appearances and is making the right progress, meaning we could well see more of him moving forward.
