Preston have ended transfer deadline with another signing, with Everton winger Anthony Gordon joining on loan.
North End had already tied up Stoke City defender Liam Lindsay and Liverpool centre back Sepp van den Berg, but have now dipped in to the loan market again.
This time it’s an addition at the top end of the pitch, with winger Gordon added to provide some quality in the final third.

The 19-year-old needs games, having played just 88 minutes of Premier League action for Everton this season across three appearances.
Primarily a left-sided player, Gordon is direct and tricky, hopefully bringing something different to North End’s attack.

Gordon is one of Everton’s top young talents, and that they have trusted Preston and Alex Neil to oversee his development is a major coup for North End.

Neil has now offered his reaction to the deal, telling the club’s official website that he knew this deal would go right down to the wire.
“I think we always knew this was going to be a late deal,” said Neil. “We spoke to Everton regarding Anthony and I spoke to Anthony himself as well. We needed to make sure we brought another attacking option in and I think Anthony, who has been involved in most of Everton’s games this season, has huge potential and he is different to the other type of lads we have as well.:
“Anthony wants to take the ball, he wants to get at people, he wants to try and take them on and be creative in the final third. That type of player is what we have needed,” he added.
