Ben Davies has been in the news this week having completed a stunning move from Preston North End to Liverpool.

It looked like Davies would be heading to Celtic on a pre-contract agreement, having entered the final six months of his North End deal.

However, Liverpool swooped in to take Davies to Anfield, giving Preston £1.6million plus a 20% sell-on clause and Sepp van den Berg on loan.

Davies was on the bench against Brighton and Hove Albion on Wednesday night, and may be in contention to face Manchester City this weekend.

Preston fans have been waiting for Davies to say goodbye; after all, we can’t exactly wish him well in person right now, with crowds still not allowed inside stadiums.

Now, Davies has taken to Twitter to post an emotional message to North End and the club’s fans, having been with Preston since the age of 11.

Davies thanked everybody at the club for making the last 14 years such a dream, having also captained the club during his time at Deepdale.

Davies claims he will always love Preston and hopes to be back to watch North End as a fan one day as he embarks on his Premier League career.
