It was a dream move for Ben Davies in January when he joined then Premier League champions Liverpool.
Preston fans were glad to see him get such an opportunity and Liverpool supporters were intrigued to see a rare signing from the Championship.
Unfortunately he is still waiting to make his debut for The Reds. Injuries have delayed his first appearance whilst Juergen Klopp also seemed to be happy with a pairing of Nathaniel Phillips and Preston-born Rhys Williams. Ozan Kabak also played a few games but it’s unconfirmed whether his stay will be made permanent.
Not much has been said by Klopp on the continued absence of Ben Davies and many have questioned the transfer. Some have even suggested he will just be sold for a tidy profit within the next year.
Ben took to Instagram to give his own update on the situation.
He has finished rehabilitation on an injured calf which should hopefully see him start pre-season fully fit. He faces an even harder battle to make it into the Liverpool team though next season. Virgil Van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip will all be returning from their injuries too.
He deserves his chance in the Premier League and I hope it comes with Liverpool. Right now it’s screaming of another Jordan Hugill situation who barely saw any action at West Ham United.
