Ben Pearson left Preston on Friday for a move to Championship rivals Bournemouth – and it’s already taken a sharp turn.

The midfielder had made it clear that he wanted to leave North End, having rejected the chance to sign a new contract.

With his deal ending in the summer, Preston chose to sell Pearson in something of a surprise move to the Cherries.

Many expected him to join a Premier League club, or even try and play in Europe with Celtic, but he instead joined a team just six points ahead of North End in the table.

Much was made of Pearson’s comments upon signing; he told Bournemouth’s official website that he was looking forward to playing with better players on the South Coast.

Pearson noted that he was looking forward to working with Jason Tindall despite only speaking to him for five or ten minutes, praising his work this season.

Well, it’s taken quite the turn today. Tindall has now been sacked as Bournemouth boss, meaning Pearson won’t be playing for him at all – he was an unused substitute in last night’s 2-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

Tindall has lost his job just six months after replacing Eddie Howe, having been his assistant in the Premier League.

Pearson will now quickly have a new manager at the Vitality Stadium, with some Preston fans no doubt seeing the funny side of this news today.
