One of the key dates for fans in the build-up to the new season, is the release of the club’s new kit.

Now, we know all too well now that the kit will be white and navy. That isn’t going to change any time soon, but the kit release always sparks reactions.

Every year, North End fans pray for hooped socks. It’s a somewhat strange request to be so partisan about, but it’s become a real tradition now.

This year, North End delivered on that front. It’s still a kit from the Nike Teamwear range, rather than being custom-made for North End. That’s a regular source of frustration, as is the giant 32Red sponsor.

North End have released a host of images throughout the day, showing a range of first-team players in the new strip. Preston fans have been sharing their views too, with a real mixed reaction so far.

Some supporters feel it’s the best North End kit in years, and an upgrade on this season’s kit, with the word ‘classy’ also being used. Oh, and hooped socks have gone down predictably well.

Others aren’t quite so impressed, feeling it’s ‘horrendous’ and looks like a Microsoft paint job, with the 32Red logo continuing to be an issue for some fans.
