Preston North End have a number of injury and suspension issues right now, and another can be added to the list.

Joe Rafferty is now serving a ban, whilst Darnell Fisher, Ben Davies, Andrew Hughes, Josh Earl, Ben Pearson, Paul Gallagher and Josh Harrop are all out injured.

Fans may have noticed that Billy Bodin hasn’t been involved of late, which has been a little perplexing even with his future unclear.

The Welsh winger has made just one Championship appearance this season, and that came way back on the opening day against Swansea City.

He hasn’t even been on the bench since the 4-2 win over Brentford in October, and some have been left wondering just where on earth he is as North End struggle for consistency.

Alex Neil today confirmed that Bodin has had a procedure on his knee, and will ‘be out for a while’, explaining his recent absence.

Bodin has now taken to Twitter to share an update, claiming he is aiming to be back on the pitch just after Christmas.

Bodin had his operation last week following an injury in training, so hopefully we will see him again soon – and he needs a big second half of the season if he is to win a new contract.
