As Preston drew yet another goalscoring blank on Saturday afternoon, Callum Robinson was the hero for Cardiff City at Burnley.
If you don’t laugh, you’ll cry.
North End recorded a sixth 0-0 drawn in just 11 Championship outings this season by playing out a stalemate at Sunderland.
Preston have managed just three goals in those 11 games and have drawn blanks in eight games this term.
Only one Preston striker has managed a goal this season and two North End attackers – Ched Evans and Troy Parrott – have gone more than 1000 minutes since their last Championship goal.
Whatever way you slice it, Preston’s attack just isn’t good enough.
There was real frustration when it became clear that Preston wouldn’t be adding another striker before the summer transfer deadline.
That feeling turned to anger when Callum Robinson completed a move away from West Bromwich Albion to Cardiff City.
Preston spent much of the summer targeting Robinson, aiming to take the attacker on loan for the season.
Cardiff swooped in and signed Robinson for just £1.5million, a fee that is reasonable for many Championship clubs but clearly not Preston.

Robinson was a fan favourite at Preston and a return would have been perfect in terms of his connection to the North End fanbase and his proven Championship quality.
Cardiff are now seeing that first-hand having watched Robinson bag two assists in just his second game for the Bluebirds last month.
On Saturday, Robinson was the goalscoring hero for Cardiff as he popped up with a late header to earn a 1-1 draw against Burnley.
Robinson firing a late goal in a big moment just as Preston once again played out a goalless draw felt almost poetic.
At least Robinson, somebody with Preston so close to his heart, will have probably enjoyed bagging against our rivals in claret and blue.
