Preston made three new signings on deadline day, luring Liam Lindsay, Sepp van den Berg and Anthony Gordon to Deepdale.
North End needed reinforcements on the final day of the window, and secured three new faces for Alex Neil’s squad.
The final addition came with Gordon joining on loan from Everton, with Preston beating competition from a number of Championship clubs.

Alex Neil desperately wanted another winger before the deadline, and Gordon certainly represents an exciting option in that area.
The 19-year-old has already shown promising signs in Everton’s first team, so Preston fans are very keen to see him make an instant impact in the Championship.

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti is at least a major fan of Gordon, and made comments back in July that should excite North End fans.
Ancelotti not only suggested that he has a lot of confidence in Gordon, but also thinks that he has the quality to play in the Premier League right now.

“Anthony is doing well,” said Ancelotti. “He is young but showing good personality and character, when he plays from the start or goes on as a substitute. I have a lot of confidence in him. He is a player for now and for the future.”
“He just needs to play to increase his confidence. He has quality. He can improve his knowledge but he is ready to play in the Premier League without a problem,” he added.
That would suggest that Gordon can make an immediate impact in the Championship, with Ancelotti clearly expecting big things from him – and maybe we can see that with Preston, starting with Saturday’s game against Rotherham United
