Sheffield Wednesday have sacked manager Xisco Munoz just weeks after he took a jab at Preston North End.
The Owls stunned many by parting company with Darren Moore over the summer despite winning promotion to the Championship.
In came Munoz, whose only previous stint in English football was a promotion-winning Championship campaign with Watford.
The Spaniard arrived having previously been in charge of Anorthosis in Cyprus and Wednesday fans were hoping that he could make a fast start to the Championship season.
That really hasn’t happened though, with Munoz failing to win any of his 12 games in charge of Wednesday.
Tuesday’s 1-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion has proven to be the final straw with Munoz now officially given his marching orders.

Xisco Munoz comment about Preston North End comes back to haunt him
One of Munoz’s defeats was at home to PNE as Ryan Lowe took his side to Hillsborough back in August.
Liam Lindsay scored the only goal of the game, sending a bullet header into the net from Kian Best’s free kick.
PNE were of course delighted with three points but Munoz took something of a job at North End’s approach to the game.
Munoz told BBC Radio Sheffield that he wouldn’t want to approach a game like PNE did, seemingly suggesting that North End didn’t try to play football properly, in his eyes.
Well, Munoz recorded just two points from his 10 games in charge of Wednesday whereas PNE sit third in the table with 20 points.
Of course, it’s a long season and many will be backing PNE to fall away over the course of the season.
We’re under no illusions here; there are teams with much bigger budgets who could breeze past North End later in the campaign.
Munoz talked a big game whilst criticising North End though and couldn’t find the results or the performances himself, now paying the price with his job.
